Te Pae – our online portal

Last updated: 5 December 2024

Te Pae provides organisations and the public a way to engage, access and submit information to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).

A new online portal, named Te Pae, is available for external organisations and the public to use.

Te Pae portal - tepae.building.govt.nz

The name Te Pae reflects the purpose of our new system (portal) as a central place for our stakeholders and us to come together – 'a platform for those with knowledge and perception'.

Te Pae will form part of a greater technology solution which, over time, will help improve our service offering. This new technology provides a more fit for purpose and efficient system that enables us to adapt to regulatory changes more quickly in the future.

Using Te Pae

Te Pae enables data to be collected and stored in one safe and secure place (system) and provides a way to communicate directly with us including the submission of complaints and enquiries.

You will need to log in to Te Pae to ensure safe and secure access to your information. You will be able to maintain your own portal information like user profile and password resets.

The MultiProof, Product Certificate (CodeMark) and Building Consent Authorities (BCA) registers will be searchable via Te Pae.

Te Pae is for:

  • Applicants and agents such as architects, designers, building project managers, builders, and manufacturers
  • External Assessors/specialists/suppliers
  • Modular Component Manufacturers (BuiltReady)
